Sixteen years ago, our lives were forever changed. September 11th, 2001 marked histories deadliest terrorist attack on American soil. Almost three thousand people lost their lives, in three coordinated attacks. Those lost included 343 firefighters and 71 law enforcement officers. East Northport has continually vowed to “Never Forget” that tragic day or the lives lost.
This year, the members of the East Northport Fire Department, along with members from neighboring Fire Departments, and our community, will come together to remember the attacks and pay tribute to the lives lost.
After 16 years, the ENFD encourages everyone to always remember and continue to pay tribute to the brave men and women who lost their lives in the World Trade Center, The Pentagon, and Flight 93 in Pennsylvania.
This year’s ceremony will commence at 9:45 am at ENFD Headquarters located at 1, 9th Avenue in East Northport. There will also be a candle light vigil at 8:00 pm at the same location.
