Hit the streets of New York City with Food & Water Watch, gathering petition signatures to our members of Congress in support of the WATER Act, federal legislation that would ensure that all Americans have access to safe, affordable water!
We’re meeting at the Broadway Station in Queens (on the N & W trains).
Why we’re petitioning:
Our nation’s public water systems are in serious need of repair. The lead crisis in Flint – and lead in the taps of New York schools – show the urgency of fixing our water infrastructure. The WATER Act (H.R. 1673) would establish dedicated funding for replacing lead pipes, improving public water and sewer systems, installing fountains in schools, and other important programs. We need to urge our members of Congress to co-sponsor and support this important legislation!
