On Saturday, June 30, 2018, people in Westbury and all over the United States will stand up and say to the Trump Administration, “Stop The Cruelty Now!” in a nationwide protest proclaiming that Families Belong Together.

Please bring posters to the rally and please make extra posters and bring them to the rally for others if you can!

‘Families Belong Together’ opposes the cruel, inhumane and unjustified separation of children from their parents along the U.S. border with Mexico and at other ports of entry into the U.S.

We protest the conditions in which these children are kept. We protest the irreversible trauma that has already been perpetrated on these children and their parents.

Many of the over 2,300 youth removed from migrant parents since May 5 remain in shelters and foster homes across the country. The U.S. government has done little to help with the reunifications, attorneys say, prompting them to launch a frantic, improvised effort to find the children — some of them toddlers.

The executive order that Donald Trump signed is not a solution to the crisis created by his administration; it keeps kids imprisoned indefinitely, and doesn’t reunite thousands of separated families.

But it does show the Trump administration is reacting to public pressure, so we will continue to increase our pressure for justice on Saturday, June 30, to send a clear message that families should be united and that we are one people!

This event is being organized by the youth of Westbury but any and all are invited! Please spread the word!

Please also RSVP to the event on the official “Families Belong Together” website:

We will be meeting in the Westbury Village Plaza on the corner of Post Avenue and Maple Avenue in Westbury, NY 11590.

This rally will be a 5 minute walk from the Westbury LIRR train station

The rally is accessible by the Nassau Inter-County Express Bus (NICE bus) on the n35, n22, and n22x bus routes.

There are multiple parking lots in the nearby area.
