Martha Livingston is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Public Health, SUNY College at Old Westbury. She has been a member of Physicians for National Public Health since 1991 and is the Vice Chair of the New York Metro Chapter. She has organized numerous speaker training workshops and sessions on universal health care. She is an active union member and sits on the national Board of the Labor Campaign for Single Payer Health Care. She co-edited “10 Excellent Reasons for National Health Care” with Dr. Mary O’Brien in 2008.
Michael Zweig is Professor Emeritus and Former Director at the Center for Study of Working Class Life, Department of Economics, Stony Brook University. He is the recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Active in his union, United University Professions (AFT Local 2190), Michael represented 35,000 faculty and professional staff throughout SUNY and was elected to two terms on its state executive board. His books include What’s Class Got to Do with It?: American Society in the Twenty-first Century ; Religion and Economic Justice ; and The Idea of a World University. He resides on the North Fork and is a member of the Southold Fire Department.
