Join together to create a local disability advisory council to FEMA for the purposes of Emergency/Disaster Planning. This is a chance for local disability communities to let FEMA and local Emergency Responders know what we need, what would actually help us! Space is limited so please RSVP. Disabled people, families and emergency professionals have priority but please RSVP if you would like to attend.

Jim Flemming, Lead on Briefing and Regional Disability Integration Specialist, will be coming to Suffolk County area to discuss the concept of a Core Advisory Group with the goal of expanding the participation of persons with disabilities within county emergency management planning.
Current promising practices will be discussed as well as the challenges faced when this is not implemented.
Please forward to individuals from the disability community and any first/emergency responders and emergency management in Suffolk county.
