What is the Brooklyn Queens Connector?
The BQX would be a luxury streetcar along the waterfront from Astoria all the way to Sunset Park, Brooklyn. It is heavily supported by real estate giants.
While we do need to increase transit options in many parts of the city, the proposed BQX route does not actually address any of our “transit deserts.”
The City would finance this trolley in part by “capturing” rising property taxes along the route – literally paid for by gentrification.
